SAN JOSE, Calif. Amid some management changes, CMOS image sensor maker OmniVision Technologies Inc. said revenue for the first quarter was $136.9 million, compared to $131.8 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006, and $96.0 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2006.
GAAP net income in the quarter was $15.9 million, or $0.28 per diluted share, compared to net income of $22.5 million, or $0.39 per diluted share, in the fourth quarter 2006, and net income of $14.4 million, or $0.25 per diluted share, in the prior year period. Net income for the quarter includes a $6.5 million impact of stock-based compensation expense.
The company also named James He as chief operating officer and Ray Cisneros as vice president of sales. He, who has been with OmniVision since 1995, most recently fulfilled the role of senior vice president of engineering.
Cisneros, who has been with OmniVision since 2002, was its director of sales.
This week, an analyst has downgraded OmniVision Inc. amid competitive pressures in its CMOS image sensor business.
