SAN FRANCISCO Mosaid Technologies Inc., an intellectual property (IP) and memory test technology vendor, has added claims of infringement of two additional to an existing complaint against Micron Technology Inc., Powerchip Semiconductor Corp. and ProMOS Technologies Inc., Mosaid said Thursday (Aug. 31).
The infringement claims, filed in federal court in Texas, bring the total number of Mosaid patents allegedly infringed by the two companies to 11, Mosaid (Ottawa, Canada) said.
The two additional infringement claims have been made against DRAM products from all three defendants, Mosaid said. The company has also claimed that Micron's CMOS image sensor products also violate one of the two patents.
Mosaid originally brought suit alleging the violation of nine of its patents by Micron, Powerchip and ProMOS last month. In June, Mosaid settled a long-running patent dispute with Infineon Technologies AG.
"We believe the addition of these patents strengthens our patent infringement case against all three defendants," said George Cwynar, Mosaid's president and CEO. "Furthermore, in relation to Micron, we are broadening the infringement coverage to a significant line of additional Micron products."
Micron and Mosaid are also involved in another patent dispute currently being litigated in California.
