SAN FRANCISCO Device data management vendor Encirq Corp. Monday (Sept. 25) announced what it termed a major upgrade to its DeviceSQL software framework.
According to Encirq (Burlingame, Calif.), DeviceSQL 3.0 adds new features to improve versatility, enabling customers to create high performance data management components and solutions that can be built once and then deployed and extended for each device across an entire product line.
DeviceSQL now includes support for four integrated data management methods, diverse storage devices and methods and "instant-on" data, Encirq said.
"Device data management is not just about the efficient storage and retrieval of data, it is about the use of data in real time," said Mark Vogel, Encirq co-founder and CEO. "DeviceSQL was built from the ground up with one goalto enable devices to efficiently leverage data created by the device, flowing through the device and accessible by the device to increase its independent intelligence, capabilities and usability for users. Now, DeviceSQL is even better because it allows our customers to solve tough data management problems once and easily deploy these capabilities across
entire classes of products."
DeviceSQL version 3.0 will be available worldwide in October, Encirq said. The company is demonstrating the product at the Embedded Systems Conference in Boston this week.
