MANHASSET, N.Y. AMD Inc. and China PC supplier Founder Technology have announced an agreement to offer Founder customers systems based on AMD64 processors beginning in October.
According to IDC, Founder sold 2.5 million PCs in 2005, making it China's second-largest PC maker. Founder is ranked the world's seventh largest global desktop PC provider.
Founder will initially launch desktops with AMD64 processors, followed by notebook PCs and servers in the near future.
For AMD (Sunnyvale, Calif.) , the deal is latest major design win. Dell announced in May it would roll out new servers with AMD microprocessors.
