SANTA CRUZ, Calif. Magma Design Automation has named Stefan Hamacher, director of central design flow development at Infineon Technologies, as international chairman of the Magma Music users conference set for Feb. 28 March 1, 2007. The conference is also still seeking paper abstracts from Magma users.
Music, the Magma User's Summit on Integrated Circuits, provides a forum for Magma users to exchange ideas, discuss common problems and explore solutions related to IC design. Located in Santa Clara, Calif., the 2007 conference will feature user papers, tutorials, panels, a partner's fair, and keynote addresses.
According to Magma, Hamacher has been using Magma software for seven years to develop communications chips at Infineon. He recently used Magma's Blast Fusion to tape out a 90 nm chip, the SGOLD3 design.
For the upcoming Music conference, Magma users are invited to submit 25-minute technical paper presentations discussing their experience in design success, design methods, tool experiences, tool integration, conversion from other tools and interoperability with multi-vendor tools. Authors may submit papers on ASIC, structured ASIC, ASSP, COT and FPGA design flows.
Paper abstracts are due Dec. 15, 2006. Submission guidelines, along with registration information, is available at the Magma Music web site.
