WASHINGTON A change in regulations for government-sponsored technical conferences has resulted in the cancellation of a decade-old confab on programmable logic technology.
Organizers of the Military and Aerospace Programmable Logic Device conference said this week that a recent "legal finding" preventing NASA from collecting registration fees for conferences was "the root cause of this cancellation."
The 2007 conference was to have been held in September.
Organizers said they had attempted to find another government agency to sponsor the conference, but ran out of time. They said the conference might return in 2008 if there is sufficient interest.
The conference was first held in 1998.
