SAN JOSE, Calif. South Korean foundry provider Dongbu HiTek Co. Ltd. will soon commence volume production of low-power SRAMs from another Korean firm, Emerging Memory & Logic Solutions Inc. (EMLSI).
Dongbu (Seoul) will make 8MB/3V SRAMs for EMLSI, which targets its chips for mobile handset applications. It will make devices based on 0.18- to 0.15-micron geometries.
"We continue to collaborate closely with EMLSI with plans to shift its other popular SRAM solutions, notably 2MB/3V and 4MB/5V devices, to the finer 0.15-micron processing node in the near future,'' said Jae Song, executive vice president of Dongbu HiTek, in a statement.
Dongbu HiTek emerged from the fusion of Dongbu Hannong Chemicals and Dongbu Electronics in 2007.
