COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Three member companies of the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturing Group have formed a subcommittee to develop plug-and-play specifications for Com Express.
Com Express is a modular format using the PCI Express bus architecture that plugs into special custom carrier boards.
The purpose of the group's Com Express standard is to bring together the serial-differential signaling used in LVDS, USB 2.0, PCI Express, SATA and other standards.
The subcommittee, formed by Adlink Technology Inc., Congatec AG and MSC Vertriebs GmbH will release a design guide to simplify direct interoperability on different carrier boards used in Com Express modules.
A design specification for carrier board is expected in February 2008.
