SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Air Liquide Group has raised its prices by up to 50 percent on a number of chemical products for ICs and related markets.
Prices will be increased for the following products: oxygen and nitrogen -- 10 percent; argon, carbon dioxide and hydrogen -- 15 percent; helium -- 30 percent; Krypton -- 50 percent; cylinder rental -- 6 percent; and Xenon -- variable by contract.
Monthly facility fees will range between 30 and 50 percent, depending upon the customer installation. The increases are due to growing costs of equipment and storage vessels, labor, transportation and other factors, according to the company.
In a statement, Kim Denney, president of Air Liquide America L.P., said: ''The worldwide shortage of helium and other rare gases attributed to rapidly growing demand has increased the cost of supply, and need for new investment at unprecedented rates. We expect these market conditions to continue for the next several years.''
