I find it surprising that Apple would want to buy a bunch of chip developers and then not make any chips. It doesn't really add up.

Interesting twist on an interesting story. Rick, I think the really eye opening part of your article came at the end: "P.A. Semi customers were told the acquiring company was not interested in the startup's products or road map, but is buying the company for its intellectual property and engineering talent." Ladies and gentlemen, Apple is now officially a fabless multicore processor manufacturer. Somehow, I wonder what the execs at Google think of all the commotions in the processor business. Could they be considering jumping into the fray as well? If so, I suggest that they take a good look at Plurality Ltd. Maybe Microsoft should get into the semi business as well. At any rate, the excitement is becoming unbearable. Thanks for an informative article.
