SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Solar-cell startup Cyrium Technologies Inc. has closed its Series B round of funding for a total of $15 million.
The investment round was led by The Quercus Trust. Major investors from previous rounds of financing also participated in this round, including BDC Venture Capital, Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital, and Pangaea Ventures Ltd.
Cyrium Technologies is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and Sunnyvale, Calif. It is leveraging a decade of R&D on semiconductor quantum dots, which will help concentrated photovoltaics (CPV) system manufacturers reach solar cell conversion efficiencies that enable cost-competitive solar-energy generation.
