SAN FRANCISCOThe College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) of the University at Albany said Thursday (May 28) plans to host a job fair to assist M+W Zander in building its project management team to support the construction of GlobalFoundries' semiconductor fab in Malta, N.Y.
The job fair, scheduled for June 10 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at CNSE's Albany NanoTech Complex, is designed to help recruit candidates for 40 high-tech design and construction management positions, CNSE said. The positions carry salaries that range from $40,000 to more than $100,000 annually, CNSE said.

Globalfoundries (Sunnyvale, Calif.) is the silicon foundry venture created by the spinoff of Advanced Micro Devices Inc.'s manufacturing operations and backed by an investment from Advanced Technology Investment Co. (ATIC) of Abu Dhabi. The firm plans a $4.5 billion, 300-mm fab in Malta in N.Y.'s Saratoga County that is expected to come online in 2012 with 35,000 wafer starts per month at full capacity.
