COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Simtek Corp. here today announced it has received a U.S. patent for technology used to customize programmable gate arrays with one metal layer.
The company said the new patent, granted on Feb. 12, gives it "clear title to key technology" in metal-programmed gate arrays. The single-mask programmed devices reduce development costs and prototyping cycles, according to Simtek. The patented technology is used in the company's Integrated Logic products.
