TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taiwan's Via Technologies Inc. here today announced that its C3 processor will power a sub-$200 PC line from Microtel.
Available on the WalMart.com Web site, the new Microtel systems include four products: the SYSMAR710, SYSMAR715, SYSMAR150, and SYSMAR151.
Offering PC functionality at consumer electronics price points, the Microtel systems are aimed for the back-to-school, small office and home computer segments.
The PCs feature Via's C3 processor with a 133-MHz front-side bus, 128-MB of SDRAM, 2D/3D graphics, and a 10-GB disk drive. The PCs can be equipped with a 56-Kbps modem or a 10/100-Mbps Ethernet card or both.
The SYSMAR710 is $199, while the SYSMAR150 sells for $299.
