JERUSALEM -- Nanolayers Ltd., a developer of organic semiconductor materials, today announced the closing of a seed round of financing from Intel Capital, Millennium Materials Technology Fund, and Summit Technology.
Nanolayers' ultra-thin film technology claims to be a breakthrough in the field of organic materials and molecular electronics. The Jerusalem-based company is developing organic materials for flat-panel displays, OLEDs, and semiconductor ICs, said Ben-Tzion Spitz, CEO of Nanolayers.
The company's technology makes use of molecular layer epitaxy (MLE), which has the ability to form highly uniform and stable organic circuitry at less than one-hundredth the size previously attainable.
Nanolayers was formed in 2001 by Yissum, the technology transfer entity of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
