SAN JOSE -- Genesis Microchip Inc. here today denied that it is infringing the consumer-chip patents from its major competitor--Silicon Image Inc.
On April 24, Silicon Image announced it filed a patent infringement suit against Genesis. The complaint involves chip technology called "Digital Visual Interface" (DVI), which is a method of connecting monitors to PCs via a digital link. Both companies offer DVI technology integrated in their chip products.
"Based on the information we have, this lawsuit appears to be baseless and we will fight it," said Amnon Fisher, Genesis' president and CEO.
