TOKYO -- In a move to expand its presence in Japan and Asia, SZ Testsysteme AG of Germany today opened a new subsidiary in the Tokyo suburb of Chiba. Until now, the company had relied on distributors to sell its mixed-signal test equipment in Japan and the region.
"Our principal target groups are Japanese semiconductor manufacturers in the areas of automotive and telecommunications integrated circuits, as well as established testing and assembly firms and production facilities ofmulti-national semiconductor manufacturers in the Asian region," said Wolfgang Martens, manager for the Asia region at SZ Testsysteme.
SZ Testsysteme said it recently delivered testers to Toyota Motor Corp., which is using the systems in R&D and component production. In the last fiscal year, the German company said it also received orders for automatic test equipment from Hitachi Ltd.
