WJ Communications Inc announced a partnership with Fujitsu Quantum Devices Ltd in Japan to develop jointly products for 40Gbit/s optical networks, including power modules based on gallium-arsenide (GaAs) devices and aimed at OC-768 and STM-256 systems
The first product from the partnership is a 43Gbit/s driver amplifier module, which has an output voltage of 6.0 Vpp.
The module's peak output voltage and eye-crossing settings are adjustable. The amplifier module has an output level detector and feed-back loop to stabilise the output swing, said the two companies. Initial product shipments have begun, according to the two companies. Pricing information was not released.
