SEOUL--Cabot Corp.'s Microelectronics Materials Division this month will begin construction of a 20,000-square-foot logistics facility in Korea to supply the country's chip industry with slurries for chemical mechanical planarization (CMP).
The new Korean site is located in Kyereuk-ri, Miuany-myun, Ansung City in the Kyunggi-Do Province. It will house a logistics center as well as Cabot's Korean headquarters. Officials with Cabot Microelectronics Materials in Aurora, Ill., said the center should reduce delivery times and improved responsiveness to customers' technical needs in Korea.
"We believe our new facility will strengthen our relationships with our Korean customers as well as strengthen Cabot's global infrastructure," said Bruce Zwicker, director of global business and sales.
