WARREN, N.J. -- Anadigics Inc. here announced that the company has begun productionvolume shipments of two power amplifiers (PAs) to support L.M. Ericsson's A1228d TDMA mobile phone. This tri-mode, multi-band wireless handset utilizes Anadigics' high-efficiency PAs to deliver up to four hours of talk time with a standard ultra-slim battery.
"As a result of our close relationship with Ericsson, we continue to gain important design wins in industry-leading digital phones such as the A1228d," said Bami Bastani, Anadigics' president and CEO. "Power amplifier efficiency is the foremost determinant for talk time and is critical for the success of a phone model in the highly-competitive wireless handset market. With the A1228d, Ericsson has designed an easy-to-use, moderately priced mobile phone that employs tri-mode technology (analog 800 MHz, digital TDMA 800/1900 MHz) for broad geographic coverage with consistent voice quality.
