MUNICH--Infineon Technologies AG here today launched an initiative aimed at creating global partnerships for its silicon-based security technology. The Silicon Trust program aims to strengthen Infineon's ties with customers using its chip card ICs, including encryption and biometrics devices.
"With launching the partnership program 'The Silicon Trust,' Infineon embraces a unified approach to the market requirement and breeches the gap between product suppliers and customers looking for complete solutions," said Ulrich Hamann, senior vice president and general manager of Infineon's Security and Chip Card ICs business group.
The Munich-based company said the program will give broad assistance to companies planning the introduction of security systems, based on chip card, biometrics or high-encryption technology. These applications include computing, secure e-commerce and m-commerce, telecommunications, industrial and automotive.
European and North American companies are the initial members in the program. Infineon said they include: Astro Datensysteme, Biometric Identification, CE Infosys, Dermalog, Faktum, Mytec Technologies, Precise Biometrics, Siemens Information and Communications Mobile, Siemens PSE Austria, and Veritouch.
