SAN JOSE -- Cohu Inc.'s Electronics Division unit here at Semicon West announced a new handler for testing radio-frequency and wireless application ICs that's capable of speeding up the time it takes to set test cells for maximum throughput, said the company.
The Delta 1888 handler is a gravity-feed system designed to deliver plunge index time of up to 7,200 units per hour (UPH) for a single site, said Cohu Electronics, which is based in San Diego. The plunge-to-board feature is software programmable for ease of setup, according to product managers here this week.
"The test site, from the plunger drive mechanism to the design and material in the nest holding the device for test, is specifically designed for RF testing," said Kevin Brennan, director of marketing at the Cohu's Delta Design unit.
The company said its new Delta 1888 incorporates active mechanisms throughout the part path to provide a continuous flow of parts through the test handler. "This handler was designed specifically for the RF test cell," Brennan added. "From the casters on up, it has been designed to deliver maximum yield and productivity for RF/Wireless production test environments."
