FREMONT, Calif. -- Credence Systems Corp. here has expanded its automatic test equipment offering for logic ICs with the launch of the Quartet Logic system and the ValStar VS 1000 tester.
The Quartet Logic system is a 512-pin, 100-MHz tester with +/- 225-picosecond accuracy. Credence said the system is available in a small two-bay foot-print that's suited for wafer-sort applications where floor space is expensive and limited.
Credence's new VS 1000 is a 1,024-pin, 100-MHz system, also with +/- 250-ps accuracy. The Fremont ATE supplier said the 1,024 pin capability of VS 1000 makes it well-suited for multi-site testing of logic devices for reduced cost.
The need for lower cost logic testing is "especially relevant in the consumer entertainment market, where the price of chip sets is being driven down at a rapid pace," noted Graham Siddall, president and CEO of Credence.
