AUSTIN, Tex. - Communications-chip supplier Silicon Laboratories Inc. here has acquired SNR Semiconductor Inc., a small IC-design firm, for an undisclosed amount.
SRN, based in Austin, specializes in the design of CMOS-based analog and mixed-signal IC cores for use in communications applications. Under the terms, SNR Semiconductor will become part of Silicon Laboratories' Wireline Products Division.
"SNR Semiconductor has a talented design team and a broad library of analog integrated circuit cores," said Nav Sooch, chairman and chief executive of Silicon Laboratories. "We will use their existing library of standard IP cores to advance product goals throughout our company."
