SAN JOSE--Micrel Semiconductor here has introduced a new series of dual and triple operational amplifiers with the capability of driving unlimited capacitance loads and handling speeds up to 135 MHz.
"Over the past few months, Micrel has introduced a range of leading-edge op amps in SOT23-5 packaging with speeds ranging from 105 MHz to 350MHz. We are now offering dual- and triple-versions for the first time," said Scott Brown, manager of the company's Linear and RF Business Unit.
The new MIC915 dual and MIC916 triple op amps have been designed for high-speed, low-power applications. Key applications for the new dual and triple op amps include digital subscriber line (xDSL) receivers, portable instruments, medial equipment, and video/imaging systems, according to Micrel. The devices consume 2.4 mA per amp, and like other members in the MIC91x series introduced earlier this year, the two new op amps can drive any capacitance load, said the San Jose company.
Both devices are specified at supply voltages of +/-2.5 volts and +/-9V. Input offset voltage is 1 mV (typical), and large signal voltage gain is 73 dB. (The PSRR is 81dB and CMRR is 98dB.)
Housed in an MSOP-10 package, the MIC915BMM dual op amp is priced at $1.96 each in quantities of 1,000. The MIC916BQS triple op amp costs $2.98 each in similar quantities in a QSOP-16package. Samples are now available with production quantities shipped eight weeks after orders are received.
