SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Silicon Storage Technology Inc. today said it has hired Dataquest analyst Jim Handy as senior director of marketing. Handy had spent nearly 10 years at Dataquest in San Jose, and most recently he was director of the market research firm's memory group.
As senior director of marketing, Handy will manage SST's corporate marketing initiatives. The company said he will be responsible for setting and implementing marketing programs for SST's products and activities in digital consumer, networking, wireless communications and Internet computing. Handy reports to Derek Best, senior vice president of sales and marketing at SST.
"I believe SST has the right technology and industry expertise to become one of the world's leading flash memory companies," said Handy, who was marketing manager of memory and microcomputer-based products at Integrated Device Technology Inc. (IDT) prior to working at Dataquest. Handy also held memory and microcontroller marketing positions at Intel Corp., National Semiconductor Corp., and Siemens AG.
