SAN JOSE--The Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) trade group today announced support for a U.S. government-sponsored trade mission in China for the chip-equipment industry.
The trade mission, which runs from March 15-19, will coincide with the Semicon China 2004 trade show. Semicon China, to be held in Shanghai, runs from March 17-19.
"SEMI is again pleased to work with the U.S. Department of Commerce in its efforts to promote business co-operation between the high tech industries in China and the U.S. This trade mission offers companies the opportunity to explore the rapidly growing Chinese semiconductor market," said Stanley T. Myers, president and CEO of SEMI, in a statement.
The trade mission will be led by Michelle O'Neill, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information Technology Industries of the Department of Commerce.
