GLOUCESTER, Mass.--Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates Inc. Thursday (April 29) said revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2004 totaled $127.3 million, compared to revenue of $111.2 million for the same period a year ago.
The company recorded net income of $14.0 million, or $0.38 per diluted share during the second quarter of fiscal 2004, compared to net income of $5.5 million, or $0.16 per diluted share for the same period a year ago.
For fiscal Q3, Varian expects revenue to be between $138 and $148 million. Earnings per share is anticipated to range from $0.45 to $0.53 per diluted share.
Ultra Clean Holdings Inc., a developer and supplier of gas delivery systems, announced record sales of $40.8 million, representing a 58.5 percent sequential increase and a 131.7 percent year-over-year jump.
The company reported $1.4 million of net income for the quarter ended March 31, 2004 compared to net income of $0.7 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2003.
For Q2, sales are projected to jump 10-20 percent. Net income is slated to be between $2.5 million and $2.9 million.
