SAN JOSE, Calif. KLA-Tencor Inc. and SII NanoTechnology (SIINT), a subsidiary of Seiko
Instruments, Tuesday (August 31) said they have formed a distribution deal.
Under the terms of the agreement, KLA-Tencor will
sell SIINT's Nanopics 2100 in North America and Europe. The Nanopics 2100 is a tabletop system that combines the
high-resolution of an atomic force microscope (AFM) with the ease of use and speed of a surface profiler, according to the companies.
The tool enables non-destructive, absolute measurements
of surface roughness, step height and surface contour, according to KLA-Tencor and Seiko Instruments of Japan.
