For the first time ever, South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. presented the most papers at IEDM in 2004, followed by IBM Corp., Toshiba Corp., and STMicroelectronics Inc, according to IEDM.
The paper race was much different from the first IEMD conference, which was held fifty years ago. At that time, Bell Labs presented the most papers, followed by RCA and Hughes.
