SAN JOSE, Calif. Toshiba Corp. has nominated Atsutoshi Nishida, executive officer and corporate executive vice president of the company, to the position of president and CEO.
In June, he will succeed Tadashi Okamura, who will become chairman of the Japanese electronics giant. The current chairman, Taizo Nishimuro, will become an advisor to the company.
A graduate of the University of Tokyo, Nishida served as chief executive of Toshiba's PC and network unit. He also served as senior vice president in Toshiba Europe in the 1980s, and as vice chairman at Toshiba America in the 1990s.
