CATC Delivers Bluetooth Protocol V1.2 Analyzer
Industry's Most Comprehensive Analyzer Available Today
Santa Clara, Calif.---Computer Access Technology Corporation (CATC), a leading communications protocol expert company, announces the industry's first Bluetooth analyzer capable of complete capture, decode and analysis of version 1.2 of the Bluetooth protocol. BTTracer/Trainer V2.1 is the latest release in CATC's extensive line of superior Bluetooth design, verification and production tools. In addition to supporting the new specification, other new features in BTTracer/Trainer V2.1 include a new auxiliary channel that allows for the capture of mixed piconets and full automation support through a DCOM interface, to enable more efficient testing of Bluetooth devices. BTTracer/Trainer V2.1 provides design engineers and system validators a powerful tool for the development and pre-screening of their devices for compliance with the new protocol specification.
In conformance with Draft 4 of the Bluetooth V1.2 specification, released May 23, 2003, BTTracer/Trainer V2.1 delivers the following support:
* Fast Connect
* Adaptive Frequency Hopping
* Absence Masks
* L2CAP Flow and Error Control
* QoS Enhancements
* Scatter Mode
* Anonymity Mode
"The Bluetooth specification is rapidly evolving and CATC is committed to deliver products that allow developers to keep pace with the changes as they occur," stated Joe Mendolia, Bluetooth business manager for CATC. "Unprecedented functionality, unparalleled flexibility and uncompromising user-friendliness are the hallmarks of CATC development tools. CATC has once again listened to the Bluetooth product development community and responded by providing the types of leading edge capabilities needed to ensure rapid time to market for its Bluetooth devices."
BTTracer/Trainer is based on CATC's Universal Protocol Analysis System (UPAS) platform that supports many other communications protocols, including PCI Express, Serial ATA and USB. Like all CATC analyzers systems, the CATC Trace expert analysis software controls the BTTracer/Trainer hardware. Embedded in this sophisticated application is a deep understanding of the Bluetooth protocol hierarchy and intricacies. The CATC Trace presents this knowledge to the user in a colorful, intuitive and easy to use graphical display, allowing users to quickly capture and validate Bluetooth product designs.
The BlueVision Verification Suite was developed to work in tandem with the BTTracer/Trainer and offers Bluetooth product developers and manufacturers a highly cost-effective verification testing solution to help ensure first pass success when certifying products at a Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility (BQTF). CATC is now shipping two BlueVision test suites, the Link Manager Protocol (LMP) and General Access Protocol (GAP) test suites. For a limited time, the GAP verification test suite is included with the purchase of a BTTracer/Trainer.
