Las Vegas, Nev. - Beceem Communications and D2 Technologies have announced a reference design for Android mobile devices that delivers 4G VoIP services with seamless multi-radio and multi-standard call handover between 4G and 3G networks.
Beceem's high-performance BCSM250 WiMAX modem provides advanced 4G wireless capabilities, including 4G-3G multi-mode and session handover as well as WiMAX-WiFi coexistence, and D2's mCUE converged communications client provides the VoIP/SIP solution with multi-radio call handover capabilities.
The collaboration has resulted in a complete turnkey solution that gives OEMs and ODMs the key building blocks for a Smart 4G phone that supports simultaneous Voice/Data sessions on different radios and enables VoIP services with multi-radio and multi-standard handover capability.
