The IXF1110 Gigabit Ethernet and IXF1010 100/1,000 Ethernet MACs are equipped with an SPI 4.2 interface. But unlike traditional SPI 4.2 interfaces, which are static, the new MACs from Intel include a dynamic-phase-alignment version of SPI 4.2. According to the company, that allows the bus to better handle skew and jitter as data rates increase. The IXF1110 is a 10-port Gigabit Ethernet device for optical applications. It integrates a serializer/deserializer (serdes) and an optics controller. The IXF1010 is a 10-port 100/Gigabit Ethernet device designed for twisted-pair solutions.
Both parts are available now. Pricing is $245 for the IXF1110 and $205 for the IXF1010.
