Camarillo, Calif. The SC4901 synchronous regulator eliminates the need for POL regulators and primary-side controllers in telecom and networking infrastructure designs. This regulator can convert a transformer secondary-side voltage into multiple regulated DC outputs. The device is self-biased from the transformer winding and also uses the transformer signal to create all of the timing functions necessary for regulation. External bias synchronizing or drive signals are not required.
The regulator can operate from a simple square-wave input over the 4.5- to 18-V input range. The device can also operate at speeds up to 1 MHz and s delivered in a 16-pin TSSOP.
