WAYNE, N.J. Just weeks after reporting an increased loss in the first quarter of 2005, 3Com has fired top sales/marketing executive Nick Ganio.
"We are disappointed with our revenue performance from the last few quarters and believe that a change in our sales leadership is in order," said Bruce Claflin, president and CEO of 3Com.
Ganio, who held the position of executive vice president of sales and marketing, came under fire midway through September when 3Com reported a $36 million loss. This loss was $11 million worse than the loss of $24 million reported in May of this year. At the time, 3Com attributed the increased loss total to lower sales.
3Com has not yet named a replacement for Ganio. In the interim, Claflin said he will head the company's sales/marketing efforts.
