Sunnyvale, CA--April 4, 1996--Technology Modeling Associates named David Lee vice president of operations. Lee has served as TMA's director of operations since joining the company in 1990. Before joining TMA Lee spent 12 years at Intel, where he held a variety of management positions in the corporate CAD, technology development, and microprocessor organizations. These included managing corporate Unix services support, graphics/computer operations and product engineering functions. He also worked on assignment at SEMATECH in systems and design organizations. Prior to Intel, he spent six years at Texas Instruments as a senior member of the technical staff in the Corporate Research Lab and in the Advanced Scientific Computer groups.Return to Headlines
David Patterson, known for his pioneering research that led to RAID, clusters and more, is part of a team at UC Berkeley that recently made its RISC-V processor architecture an open source hardware offering. We talk with Patterson and one of his colleagues behind the effort about the opportunities they see, what new kinds of designs they hope to enable and what it means for today’s commercial processor giants such as Intel, ARM and Imagination Technologies.
