Anaheim, CA--May 16, 1996--IC Expo/96 will be the most extensive semiconductor trade exhibition and conference of its kind, and will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the microprocessor with a series of industry events.
IC Expo is co-sponsored by Wescon, EE Times, Electronic Buyers' News, and OEM Magazine, and takes place as part of Wescon/96 on October 22-24, 1996, at the Anaheim Convention Center (Anaheim, CA).
This 25th anniversary microelectronics event is being held with anniversary celebrations commemorating the 45th anniversary of Wescon, and the 25th anniversary of Electronic Buyers' News and CMP Publications Inc.
A special feature of IC Expo and Wescon/96 is the Applications Conference on Communications and Computer Technologies. This technical conference will provide extensive solution-oriented presentations for communications and computer professionals in a series of several one- and two-hour application sessions. The editors of EE Times, led by executive editor, Nicolas Mokhoff, are developing the program for the conference. New and emerging semiconductor technologies will be featured in multiple sessions throughout the conference.
The industry celebration of the microprocessor's 25th anniversary will include an opening day plenary address by Ellen Hancock, vice president and chief operating officer of National Semiconductor (Santa Clara, CA); a plenary roundtable with some of the semiconductor industry's leaders and futurists debating the outlook of tomorrow's high technology; an economic forecast panel event focusing on the semiconductor industry and moderated by Vladi Catto, chief economist at Texas Instruments (Dallas, TX).
