San Jose, CA--July 15, 1996--The Electronic Design Automation Companies (EDAC) Association announced that it is requesting nominations for the organization's 3rd annual Phil Kaufman Award. The Phil Kaufman Award is given annually to honor selected individuals for their exceptional innovative contributions to design tool technology benefitting to electronic systems and IC designers.
Nominations for the Phil Kaufman Award, to be presented on November 12, 1996 at the organization's Executive Forum, are due by September 27, 1996.
The Award is named in honor of EDA industry pioneer Phil Kaufman, who turned innovative technologies like silicon compilation and emulation into businesses that have greatly benefited electronic designers.
The Phil Kaufman Award honors individuals who have been responsible for driving technological advances in EDA, whose contributions have had measurable impact on the capabilities or productivity of electronic system or IC designers, and whose contributions are recognized by EDA tool users as critical to the advancement of electronic capability.
