Campbell, CA--July 22, 1996--Zilog Inc. (Campbell, CA) announced six new infrared remote controllers, positioned for interaction with entertainment products such as Internet appliances, home theater, TVs, VCRs, audio systems, and computers.
The new 8-MHz IR remote members, the Z86L73, Z86L81, Z86L88, Z86L86, Z86L87, and Z86L89, are designed for IR remote solutions. These devices combine power-on-reset, a watch-dog timer, two-cell operation, and low-voltage protection.
To assist with design efforts and to speed up time-to-market, Zilog's Z8 L71 ICEBOX emulator provides a method for code development and OTP programming. The ICEBOX features a Windows environment graphical user interface for quick editing of program memory and registers, tracking memory locations, and setting break points in ROM.
In high volumes, the complete Zilog family of IR remote controllers are priced from $ .90 cents to $3.
