Philadelphia, PA--August 26, 1996--Hewlett-Packard Co. (Palo Alto, CA) announced that Pioneer New Media Technologies Inc. (Long Beach, CA) has chosen HP's SAP Consulting Practice and its accelerated approach to implement SAP's R/3 on HP PC-based NetServer systems running Windows NT.
HP's SAP Consulting Practice, a resource of HP's Professional Services Organization, will use its accelerated approach--which encompasses technology consulting, education, systems integration, and project-management services running in parallel--to implement Pioneer New Media's new information system in six months at a fixed price.
By replacing its existing IBM mainframe running customized applications with R/3 running on HP NetServer systems, Pioneer will be able to link its manufacturing, order-management, product-data, and financial processes, thus achieving better integration.
HP's SAP Consulting Practice is using an accelerated approach, which includes the components and services required for implementation. Using this approach, HP consultants perform the application implementation, integration, data migration, interface development, and configuration in parallel, using standard templates that have been engineered to produce a stable, maintainable R/3 system environment.
To ensure Pioneer New Media's self-sufficiency in keeping the system running on a day-to-day basis after the implementation, HP consultants will provide hands-on training, using a train-the-trainer approach.
