Campbell, CA--September 25, 1996--Precedence (Campbell, CA) announced an agreement with Cadence Design Systems (San Jose, CA) to expand the technical alliance between the two companies.
Precedence and Cadence already have over five years of successful product partnerships based on the integration of Cadence's Verilog-XL into Precedence's SimMatrix simulation backplane. With the addition of Leapfrog, the two are positioned to offer multi-simulator solutions for design and sign-off applications throughout the industry. The most recent instance of this is their collaboration in the standardization of Vertue, a Verilog-XL/SimMatrix/TimeMill co-simulation solution, for sign-off simulation in the Motorola "7-day CSIC" program.
Integration of Cadence's Leapfrog VHDL Simulator into the SimMatrix co-simulation backplane will begin immediately with co-simulation product announcements to follow. The first results of the expanded partnership will appear in early 1997.
The integration of Leapfrog into SimMatrix complements Precedence's integration of Cadence's Verilog-XL simulator. This integration, which was introduced in 1991, is the basis for co-simulation solutions from EPIC Technology, IKOS Systems, IBM, Mentor Graphics, Silvaco, andViewlogic, and has resulted in the recent announcements from Motorola and new performance standards set by the IKOS Gemini CSX Verilog HDL acceleration product.
