Santa Clara, CA--October 22, 1996--Electroglas Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) announced its wafer probing solutions are now configured with the Generic Equipment Model (GEM) standard developed by Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI). The first and only prober manufacturer to fully integrate the GEM standard, Electroglas demonstrated GEM compliance with GW Associates Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA), a third-party organization that provides products for testing and verification for GEM compliance.
The GEM standard is incorporated into Electroglas' Horizon 4080X and 4090 probers, and will be available on all future advanced prober products. Complementing its SORTnet family of information management products, Electroglas will also offer the GEM standard as an option on its EGCommander 5.0 interactive system software.
