Las Vegas, NV--November 18, 1996--Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. (TAEC; Irvine, CA) announced four new color active matrix super-shrink thin film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal displays, including 10.4-inch and 12.1-inch 800 by 600 pixel resolution, and 12.1-inch and 13.3-inch 1024 by 786 pixel resolution modules at Fall COMDEX '96.
There are two new 800 by 600 modules. The 10.4-inch LTM10C272S has a thickness of 9.4 mm and weighs 380 grams, the 12.1-inch LTM12C268 has a thickness of 7.5 mm, weighing 490 grams. There are also two new 1024 by 768 modules. The 12.1-inch LTM12Cxxx has a thickness of 7.5 mm and weighs 485 grams, the 13.3-inch LTM13C148S has a thickness of 9 mm, weighing 700 grams. The two 12.1-inch super-shrink LCD modules are mechanically compatible to one another for ease of design.
Samples of the 10.4-inch 800 by 600 LTM10C272S are now available with mass production slated for the fourth quarter of 1996. Sample pricing is $700. Samples of the 12.1-inch 800 by 600 LTM12C268 are available now with mass production slated for fourth quarter of 1996. Sample pricing is $1,100. Samples of the 12.1-inch 1024 by 768 LTM12Cxxx (under development) will be available in the first quarter of 1997 with mass production slated for the second quarter of 1997. Sample pricing is $1,300. Samples of the 13.3-inch 1024 by 768 LTM13C148S will be available in the first quarter of 1997 with mass production slated for the second quarter of 1997. Samples pricing is $2,000.
