Las Vegas, NV--November 18, 1996--Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. (TAEC; Irvine, CA) announced two high-performance cathode ray tubes (CRTs) specifically designed for emerging PC/TV applications. Designated the 36V and the 32V, these new tubes provide the high contrast, high brightness, and picture sharpness that these applications demand, and can be used for both PC and TV display.
The new CRTs provide 800 by 600 resolution and feature a number of Toshiba's latest technology developments, including an improved saddle/saddle-deflection yolk (S/S-DY), the DF-II dynamic focus electron gun and an INVAR mask.
The 32V and 36V CRTs will be manufactured at the Toshiba Display Devices Inc. facility (Horseheads, NY). Samples of the 36V will be available in Jan. 1997. Samples of the 32V will be available in Feb. 1997.
