Redmond, WA--December 18, 1996--Precision Digital Images (PDI; Redmond, WA) announced the 'C82 Software Development Kit (SDK), a new environment which gives customers a head-start in creating software for applications using the Texas Instruments (TI; Dallas, TX) TMS320C82 ('C82) digital signal processor (DSP).
The 'C82 PCI card integrates image capture, processing, and display in a single-slot Windows NT solution for the PCI bus. The card features real-time audio and video channels to enable developers to incorporate audio, speech, and video functions into their application. Capable of performing more than 1.5 billion operations per second, the 'C82 integrates two advanced DSPs and a 32-bit RISC master processor on the same silicon for high-speed instruction and parallel data processing. This processing power gives the 'C82 PCI card the ability to perform computationally intensive algorithms in real-time.
Comprehensive software includes support for Windows NT, processor and host device drivers, and an application programming interface (API). A sample application program serves as a model to demonstrate the capabilities of the 'C82PCI card. The 'C82SDK is fully-compatible with TI's Software Development Tools which include an optimizing C compiler, algebraic assembler, multi-tasking executive, and real-time emulation support.
