Brisbane, CA--December 16, 1996--Hitachi America Ltd.'s Semiconductor & I.C. Division (Brisbane, CA) introduces the HB526Cxxxx series 8 Byte wide, 168-pin DIMMs (Dual Inline Memory Modules), with densities up to l6M by 72. Based on Hitachi's new 100-MHz HM5264xxx series 64-Mbit SDRAMs, these modules are easy replacements for lower-density modules that use 16 Mbit SDRAMs. Now computer OEMs can quickly make plug-in, single-module system upgrades of workstations, servers, and high-end PCs. The DIMMs achieve high data bandwidths up to 800 Mbytes per second.
The Hitachi 100-MHz, 16M by 72 bit, 168-pin DIMM (Hitachi part number: HB526CI672EN-10) will be available in sample quantities in the second quarter of 1997. This memory module is priced at $1,850 in 1,000-piece quantities.
