Viewlogic Systems Reports Record Fourth Quarter and Year-End Results
Marlboro, MA--January 30, 1997--Viewlogic Systems Inc. (Marlboro, MA) reported for the fourth quarter of 1996, net income of $5.5 million, or $0.33 per share, including $2.7 million pre-tax, or $0.10 per share after-tax, in other income reflecting net gains from investments.
This compares to a net loss of $2.3 million, or $0.13 per share, including the non-recurring item of $6.0 million associated with the acquisition of Silerity Inc. in the fourth quarter of 1995. Excluding the non-recurring item in the fourth quarter 1995, net income was $3.8 million, or $0.22 per share. Revenues grew 15 percent to $37.2 million in the fourth quarter of 1996 compared to $32.5 million for the same period of the previous year.
For the year ended December 31, 1996, net income was $11.3 million, or $0.66 per share, including $3.9 million pre-tax, or $0.14 per share after-tax, in other income reflecting net gains from investments. This compares to the net income of $2.9 million, or $0.17 per share, including the non-recurring item of $6.0 million, or $0.35 per share, associated with the fourth quarter, 1995 acquisition of Silerity. Excluding the non-recurring item, net income for the year ended 1995 was $8.9 million, or $0.52 per share. Full year 1996 revenues were $132.9 million, compared to the $121.0 million reported in 1995.
