Santa Clara, CA--January 30, l997--National Semiconductor Corp. (Santa Clara, CA) has promoted Mark Levi, 60, to the newly created position of vice president, corporate marketing and communications.
In this role he is responsible for corporate public relations, marketing communications (including product public relations and advertising), corporate advertising and merchandising, and employee communications. He was previously vice president of marketing for National's Analog division.
Levi also will lead the company's Corporate Marketing Council of senior divisional and regional sales and marketing managers. The Council is chartered with promoting marketing process excellence worldwide and ensuring consistent marketing strategies across the company. He reports to Pat Brockett, executive vice president, worldwide marketing and sales.
In his 24 years at National, Levi has served in numerous marketing and managerial posts, including director level positions for the Microprocessor and Systems group, the Board Level Systems group, Automotive marketing, and New Technology marketing. He was named vice president of sales for Europe in 1986, and vice president of Analog marketing in 1990.
Prior to joining National in 1972 he was a sales engineer and regional sales manger for Motorola Semiconductor, a sales engineer for Philco Corp., and a design engineer for the Nortonics Division of Northrop Corp.
