San Jose, CA--January 27, 1997--VLSI Libraries Inc. (San Jose, CA) announced that SGS-THOMSON Microelectronics N.V. (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) has signed a new agreement to have VLSI Libraries develop advanced memory generators in deep submicron technologies for them. Under this agreement, VLSI Libraries will develop a variety of high-performance embedded memory generators for SGS-THOMSON's HCMOS7 (0.25m) and HCMOS8 (0.18m) processes.
This collaboration agreement extends the relationship the two companies first forged in 1992. The new agreement continues the companies' relationship through December, 2000.
VLSI Libraries' products are used extensively by SGS-THOMSON; more than 200 SGS-THOMSON designs in 1996 included products from VLSI Libraries. With this new agreement, VLSI Libraries will provide many of SGS-THOMSON's worldwide embedded generator memory needs through the year 2000, beginning with several 0.25m memory generators to be delivered in 1997. VLSI Libraries will provide most of the generator framework, circuit designs, circuit layout, and relevant EDA tool views. VLSI Libraries will also create and execute the silicon validation of these products.
